Biography

Megan has been a solicitor with Carlile Dowling since February 2016. Megan was admitted to the Bar in 2001, beginning her career at the Court of Appeal before moving to work in litigation and employment in Australia. Returning to New Zealand in 2005, Megan worked in criminal law appearing in the full range of courts from District Court to the Supreme Court. Megan now puts her extensive experience in litigation to use in advising and representing clients in civil disputes and proceedings.

Biography

Jess studied Law and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Canterbury graduating with a double degree in 2016. She was admitted to the bar in Wellington later that year. Jess interned at a law firm in Christchurch while studying before commencing her legal career at a general practice firm in the Central North Island. Following some overseas travel Jess decided to settle in Hawkes Bay. Jess is part of the Property and Commercial team at Carlile Dowling.

Biography

Originally from Christchurch, Patrick studied economics and political science at the University of Canterbury, and worked in an agribusiness consultancy before returning to study law. Patrick was admitted to the Bar in 2018.  He is part of the Property and Commercial Team at Carlile Dowling.

Biography

Tekatau (Tau) hails from the tropical islands of Kiribati. She arrived in NZ when she was two years old, and has lived in a number of places throughout New Zealand. Tau graduated in Law from the University of Waikato in 2017 and was admitted to the Bar in 2018.

She began her legal career in Hamilton, concentrating on Care of Children and Family Violence proceedings.

She joined Carlile Dowling in December 2019 as part of the Family Law team & also works with the Immigration team. Tau has a passion for immigration law & advocacy, & is a Supervised Legal Aid Provider.

Outside of work Tau plays volleyball and enjoys finding new places to visit in Hawkes Bay.

Biography

Sara was admitted to the Bar in Wellington in 2013. Prior to joining the firm she practised as a family solicitor in Waihi for several years, followed by a short stint in the litigation team at Queenstown Lakes District Council before relocating to Hawkes Bay.

Sara is a member of the Litigation Team at Carlile Dowling, specialising in Family Law, and is a Lead Legal Aid Provider.

Biography

Born and raised in the Bay of Plenty, in 2014 Tracey traded one Bay for another and moved to Hawkes Bay. After starting out as the Office Junior and working her way up to Legal Executive, she took the final leap, studying and graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 2017, and joining Carlile Dowling that year.  She is part of the Property and Commercial Team at Carlile Dowling.

Biography

Born in Auckland, Shaona graduated with a conjoint degree in law and sociology from the University of Auckland in May 2017. After her admission to the bar in November 2017, she worked for 18 months at Public Trust in Auckland. In 2020 Shaona traded the city lights for a simpler life and moved to Hawkes’ Bay to join the Estates team at Carlile Dowling.
