Simon Lindroos, Solicitor at Carlile Dowling

Different path, same commitment.

I graduated from Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University of Wellington in 2024, following a career change prompted by Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Before studying law, I spent more than a decade working across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia as an NDT Ultrasonics Technician and Inspector, including roles on wind turbines, offshore installations, refineries, and telecommunications structures. Earlier roles as a commercial diver and in the Army and Police further developed my strong focus on risk management, safety, and delivering outcomes in high-pressure environments.

I was admitted to the bar in 2024 and initially practised Family Law in Hawke's Bay before joining Carlile Dowling in September 2025.

I practise in Relationship Property, Wills, Estates and Trusts, and Property matters, working alongside Tracey Shadbolt.

I prioritise negotiation and mediation where appropriate, while identifying early when litigation may be necessary to progress a matter effectively. My approach is pragmatic and solutions-focused, with close attention to client objectives, cost, time, and emotional impact.
