David has over 30 years of legal experience including 12 years in Melbourne where he was a barrister. Before joining Carlile Dowling in 2007, David was a senior associate and partner of a national law firm in New Zealand. He was a partner of Carlile Dowling for 11 years, and became a consultant in 2021.  He practises in civil litigation, and commercial, property, trusts and estates work.

David is a LEADR trained mediator, and also does arbitrations.

Paul joined Carlile Dowling in 2005 from a role in a corporate and commercial team of a national law firm based in Wellington.

Paul was a Partner of Carlile Dowling from 2010 to 2022.

Paul commenced his legal career in 1999 having already gained significant commercial business experience. Prior to entering legal practice, Paul spent six years as a Rural Finance Manager for a bank in Hawke’s Bay and four years as a sheep and beef farm manager. Paul brings diverse experience and knowledge to his practice, gained both from within and outside of the legal profession.
